Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day

November 14th, 2022

Meet at Francesca Terrace Park at 7:20am

Robert Semple Students will all gather at a nearby park and walk to school together in remembrance of the courage it took six- year -old Ruby Bridges to walk to school being the first student to integrate Wlliam Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans becoming a national icon for the civil rights movement. Today her story continues to inspire the next generation of leaders to end racism together one step at a time.

Schools like Robert Semple are honoring Ruby Bridges by partaking in The Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. An annual day of dialogue to commemorate her historic steps. These students will continue the conversation and take part in their own forms of activism to bring an end to racism and all forms of bullying.
